Can I get hold of your Annual Accounts?

The Annual Accounts and Directors Report is available for downloading here

How can I give?

At Saoirse we do not have a weekly offering but encourage regular giving through:
  • Standing Order
  • Monthly Offering
  • Termly Love Offerings - this money will be spent on different things that we will cast vision for each time.
A form for regular standing orders can be downloaded here or contact us for more information. If setting up a standing order please indicate who it is from to aid our accounting administration.

Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.
Malachi 3 v 10

If I find it hard to give money to church what does it reveal?

  • It is a helpful indicator that we have not experienced enough of just how good God is
  • This is why Zaccheus went in a taker and came out a willing hilarious giver, having been influenced by Jesus and his giving heart,.
  • If this describes you, then we would encourage you to get to know Jesus first and not worry about giving money. In fact we don’t want anyone to give under pressure. It should be a joyful thing!

If I want to be part of Saoirse, have I got to give money?

  • No. Membership is about our hearts being joined in relationship to Jesus and each other
  • We do not want anyone to give out of a sense of duty (ie I have to!)
  • We want people to give out of the love and trust they have in Jesus to provide in all areas.

What about children?

  • We think it is good that children grow up learning to trust God.
  • Therefore it is a really healthy thing to talk these issues through with out children.
  • It can be a very precious part of family life to talk about these things and plan together.
  • If we are going to be consistent, we don’t want any parents forcing their children to give.
  • We want children to give generously but willingly out of their own trust and excitement of knowing Jesus.

What about tithing?

  • Tithing was the old testament law that was put into place to keep hearts trained into an awareness that everything owned was not theirs, but given into their possession for good stewardship by God.
  • Jesus makes it clear in the new testament that he came to fulfil the law not remove it. Ie the law describes the behaviour that comes out of a heart that has been influenced by the goodness of Jesus.
  • Therefore if my heart has been changed by Jesus, it should feel natural to give but not because I have to by law, rather because I want to. (Zacheus gave far more than a tenth!!).
  • To keep my heart healthy, the spiritual discipline of regular generous giving of one tenth is very helpful but we would rather place the emphasis on regular generosity than tithing.

What did Jesus teach about money?

  • Jesus made it clear that to have money and things is not wrong, rather, the love of money is. When we put more trust in money and possessions, they become our god (Jesus was clear that we either serve money or we serve the living God, we can’t serve both)
  • Jesus showed that the extent to which we are genuinely willing to give, (note not being forced or pressurised) reveals our level of trust in Him to provide (ie to be our God)
  • Therefore giving of money is not primarily about God or a local church raising funds , but a way of God raising children who trust him from their heart
  • Generous, regular giving, is an indicator of how healthy our relationship with Jesus is!

What is the money spent on?

  • Like any family, we have bills to pay and outgoings, from salaries to hiring venues.
  • We also want to be generous as a church and give at least one tenth of our income away to bless the city of Dublin, Ireland as a nation and enable other exciting kingdom projects going on around the world.
  • We set a budget each year that reflects what we believe God is asking us to be doing.
  • This vision will be communicated as often as we can and ordinarily twice a year we will give specific gatherings over to talking about this together.
  • The budget that will release this vision is set by elders (core team at present) and agreed by Directors.
  • Our books will be audited by independent auditors.
  • We will present our income and expenditure at least once a year.
  • If you want to look at any budgets or book keeping you (as a member of the family) are very welcome to ask.

Will other people ever be told how much money I give?

  • Other than the financial team no one will know.
  • It is between you and God.
  • We do want to ask our leaders whether they give, because leaders are those who should be leading by example.

What is your statement of beliefs?

We believe in:

  • The one true God who lives eternally in three persons—the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
  • The love, grace and sovereignty of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world.
  • The divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, which are the written Word of God—fully trustworthy for faith and conduct.
  • The dignity of all people, made male and female in God's image to love, be holy and care for creation, yet corrupted by sin, which incurs divine wrath and judgement.
  • The incarnation of God’s eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ—born of the virgin Mary; truly divine and truly human, yet without sin.
  • The atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross: dying in our place, paying the price of sin and defeating evil, so reconciling us with God.
  • The bodily resurrection of Christ, the first fruits of our resurrection; his ascension to the Father, and his reign and mediation as the only Saviour of the world.
  • The justification of sinners solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ.
  • The ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who leads us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new birth, empowers our discipleship and enables our witness.
  • The Church, the body of Christ both local and universal, the priesthood of all believers—given life by the Spirit and endowed with the Spirit's gifts to worship God and proclaim the gospel, promoting justice and love.
  • The personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfil the purposes of God, who will raise all people to judgement, bring eternal life to the redeemed and eternal condemnation to the lost, and establish a new heaven and new earth.
